Phoebe Hodgson is the October Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month
Congratulations to Phoebe Hodgson of Falmouth High School, our October Student of the Month!
Phoebe is an outstanding student who has distinguished herself through academic excellence, athletic achievement, leadership, and a strong commitment to serving her community.
 
Academically, Phoebe has earned an impressive 3.92 unweighted GPA while pursuing a rigorous course load. Throughout high school, she has completed 10 honors-level core courses and has taken or is currently taking six Advanced Placement courses, including AP Human Geography, AP Biology, AP Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Psychology, and AP U.S. Government.
 
Phoebe is also an accomplished multi-sport athlete. She is a four-year member of the Varsity Tennis program, serving as Team Captain during both her junior and senior years. She has earned consecutive League All-Star honors, as well as the Sportsmanship Award and Coaches Award for her teamwork and performance. Phoebe has also been a four-year member of the Field Hockey program, playing at the varsity level since her sophomore year and receiving both the Coaches Award and 2x Player of the Game recognition
 
Her leadership extends well beyond athletics. Phoebe is the Co-Founder and Vice President of Petals for Purpose, a community initiative that repurposes flower arrangements and donates them to local senior and assisted-living facilities. She helps organize grassroots fundraising efforts and oversees aspects of the initiative's finances, logistics, and operations. She is also a member of Hope Squad, where she supports peer-to-peer suicide prevention efforts and helps foster a supportive school environment, and the Glam Girls Club, which advocates for gender equality in athletics.
 
Phoebe's commitment to service is equally impressive. She is a member of the National Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, and National Art Honor Society, contributing numerous hours of community service and peer tutoring. Her volunteer work includes the Falmouth Road Race, supporting children with autism through the local Recreation Center, assisting elementary school PTO activities, and teaching introductory Spanish to third- and fourth-grade students. She was also selected as a recipient of the Brandeis University National Book Award for her outstanding civic and academic engagement.
 
In addition to balancing academics, athletics, leadership, and volunteering, Phoebe has maintained an impressive work schedule. She has held positions at Chapoquoit Grill, Landfall Restaurant, and Candy Go Nuts, while also providing childcare for local families since 2018.
 
Phoebe's ability to excel academically while dedicating herself to athletics, leadership, employment, and meaningful service to others exemplifies the qualities we seek to recognize through our Student Recognition Program. Congratulations to Phoebe Hodgson, our October Student of the Month!
 
Lukas Bushy is the September Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month

Lukas Bushy is being honored this week as part of our Student Recognition Program. He is an accomplished student who has demonstrated a strong commitment to academics, leadership, athletics, and service throughout his high school career. Lukas is a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and Art Honor Society, reflecting his achievements across a wide range of academic disciplines.

Beyond the classroom, Lukas has distinguished himself as both an athlete and leader. He competes in Cross Country as well as Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, serving as Captain of all three teams. His athletic accomplishments include a Cape and Islands League Honorable Mention, four Coaches Awards in Cross Country and Track, and recognition for the leadership and dedication he brings to his teams.

Leadership has been a defining part of Lukas’s high school experience. He has served as Class President for all four years, representing his classmates and taking an active role in the school community. He is also a member of Hope Squad and the Give It Back Club and serves on the Superintendent’s Advisory Council. In addition, Lukas has worked with Mr. St. Julien on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives within the Falmouth Public Schools.

Lukas’s commitment to service extends beyond his school. As a Project 351 Ambassador and Regional Service Leader, he has taken an active role in community service and helping inspire other young people to make a difference. His involvement reflects a consistent willingness to step forward, represent others, and contribute positively to both his school and the greater community.

We are proud to recognize Lukas Bushy for his academic achievement, athletic dedication, service, and exceptional leadership. His four years of leadership within his class, on his teams, and throughout the community demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact on those around him. Congratulations, Lukas!

Allison McCumber is the August  Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month

Allison McCumber is being honored this week as part of our Student Recognition Program. She is an exceptional student with a 3.96 unweighted GPA and has earned High Honor Roll recognition throughout her high school career. Allison is an active member of several honor societies, serving as Vice President of the Spanish National Honor Society, Secretary of the Science National Honor Society, Secretary of Mu Alpha Theta (Mathematics National Honor Society), and a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Allison's academic achievements, particularly in science, are outstanding. She earned 1st Place at the 2024 Falmouth High School Science Fair for her project, Ocean Warming and Its Effects on Aquatic Bird Migration. She also received 2nd Place and the Dr. Donald J. Zinn Award at the State Pond Area Bird Sanctuaries competition, along with the Marine Biological Laboratory's Dr. Arnold Clark Scholarship. Her accomplishments have also been recognized with the St. Lawrence University Book Award, the Society of Women Engineers Honors in Science Award, and an invitation to participate in the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium at Roger Williams University. In addition, she was selected to receive the Young Birders Award from the Cape Cod Bird Club, earning a full scholarship to attend Hog Island Audubon Camp.

Beyond the classroom, Allison is a dedicated leader and active member of her school community. She serves as President of the Plant Club, Captain of the Math Team, and Director of the Morning News. She is also involved in Theater Tech, Concert Band, Marching Band, Indoor and Outdoor Track, Robotics, and Yearbook, demonstrating her wide range of interests and commitment to school life.

Allison is equally passionate about serving her community and protecting the environment. Since 2023, she has volunteered as a Herring Counter with the Coonamessett River Trust, collecting environmental data and educating the public. She also volunteers at the Falmouth Road Race, Cape Cod Marathon, and Falmouth Triathlon, participates in community cleanups, supports local fundraising efforts, and contributes to the Pulsera Project, helping artisans in Central America through fair-trade bracelet sales.

Her passion for science extends beyond volunteer work. Allison completed an Environmental Education and Leadership Internship at the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, where she developed educational materials, conducted scientific resource surveys, and engaged the public in learning about local ecosystems. She also balances her academic and extracurricular commitments while working at Shaw's Supermarket.

Lillian Cassidy is the July Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month

Congratulations to Lillian Cassidy of Falmouth High School!

Lillian is being honored this week as our Student of the Month in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to serving both her school and community.

Lillian is a High Honor Roll student and an exceptional scholar. She is President of the National Science Honor Society, Treasurer of the National Math Honor Society, and a member of the National Honor Society. During her junior year, she successfully completed three AP courses while taking all of her remaining classes at the honors level. As a senior, she will continue to challenge herself by taking five AP courses.

Outside the classroom, Lillian is actively involved in athletics and student leadership. She participates in JV Basketball, Unified Basketball, and Varsity Sailing. She is also a member of Student Government and serves as Vice President of the Model United Nations Club.

Lillian demonstrates an exceptional work ethic beyond school as the Assistant Manager and Lead Lifeguard at Water Wizz, where she balances significant responsibility with her academic and extracurricular commitments.

Dedicated to giving back, Lillian has completed more than 100 hours of community service, including tutoring fellow students in science and math, volunteering with the Falmouth Road Race, and spending a week volunteering on a special passion project.

Brooke Farrington is the May Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month

Brooke Farrington is being honored this week as part of our Student Recognition Program. She is an outstanding student who has demonstrated strong academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to her school and community. Brooke is a member of the National Honor Society, where she serves as Vice President, and has earned Academic High Honors throughout her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. She is also a member of the Math Honor Society and has been recognized with the Award of Highest Honor in Math and Science from the Society of Women Engineers.

Brooke’s accomplishments extend beyond the classroom. She is the recipient of the George Edson Youth Leadership Award and was selected for the Clipper Connections Leadership Training program, an honor awarded by faculty. She was also a finalist for the National Youth Leadership Forum Business and Leadership Program at Yale, further highlighting her dedication to leadership and personal growth.

A standout athlete, Brooke has been deeply involved in volleyball, playing at both the freshman and varsity levels, as well as competing in travel club volleyball year-round. She has served as both Freshman and Varsity Volleyball Captain and earned multiple Coaches Awards for sportsmanship and leadership. She was also named a Cape and Islands League All-Star and recognized as Clipper of the Week by her school’s Athletic Director.

Brooke is an active leader within her school community. She has served as a Student Government Representative for three years and is the Founder and President of the GIB (Give It Back) Club, a volunteer organization focused on giving back to the community. She is also involved in a wide range of extracurricular activities, including Mock Trial, Model United Nations, Best Buddies, Glam Girl Club, Women in STEM, Women in Business, SASH Club, Pickleball Club, and Science Fair.

Her commitment to service is extensive. Brooke has volunteered through community clean-up initiatives, including local Styrofoam recycling efforts, and has dedicated time to tutoring both elementary and high school students. She has also supported youth athletics by helping train younger volleyball players and contributed to class fundraisers and community events.

In addition to her academic, athletic, and service commitments, Brooke balances part-time work experience, including roles as a host at Woods Hole Golf Club and La Cucina Sul Mare, as well as a retail associate at TJ Maxx, demonstrating responsibility and a strong work ethic.

Celia Suttles is the April Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month

Celia Suttles is being honored this week as part of our Student Recognition Program. She is an accomplished student who has demonstrated strong academic achievement, creativity, and leadership throughout her high school career. Celia is a member of the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society, and serves as Historian of the National Art Honor Society. She has earned High Honor Roll recognition for three years.

Celia’s academic and scientific accomplishments are impressive. She is the recipient of the Brown University Book Award and earned 3rd place at the Massachusetts Science and Engineering Regional Fair, as well as 1st place at the Falmouth High School Science Fair. Her work has also been recognized with the 300 Committee Land Trust Award and the Oyster Pond Environmental Trust Award, reflecting her commitment to environmental science and research.

Beyond the classroom, Celia is a dedicated leader and active member of her school community. She serves in Student Government and is the Co-Founder and President of Falmouth High School’s Film Club. She is also involved in Model United Nations and the Women in STEM Club, demonstrating both leadership and a passion for collaboration and global awareness.

Celia is deeply committed to service and community engagement. She has volunteered with the U.S. Geological Survey Summer Program and serves as a Sea Grant volunteer at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. In addition, she volunteers with Falmouth Elementary School art teachers and supports community events such as the Falmouth Road Race.

Outside of school, Celia is a dedicated dancer at Turning Pointe Dance Studio, balancing her artistic pursuits with her academic and leadership commitments.

Maia Ledwell is the March Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month

Maia Ledwell is being honored this week as part of our Student Recognition Program. With a 3.9 unweighted GPA, Maia has distinguished herself not only through academic excellence, but through consistent and meaningful leadership in every area of her high school experience. An Honor Roll student with Math High Honor Recognition, she is a member of the National Math Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, National Honor Society, and National Art Honor Society, demonstrating both intellectual curiosity and a commitment to contributing beyond the classroom.

Maia’s academic achievements have earned her significant recognition. She is a recipient of the 2025 John and Abigail Adams Scholarship, the Dartmouth College Book Award, and the Rochester Institute of Technology Book Award. In 2025, she was also awarded the T. McGuire Memorial Scholarship, presented to a junior in the top 2% of the class who exemplifies leadership in athletics, student government, extracurricular activities, and community service — a description that truly reflects Maia’s impact. She has also received the No Guff Award in both her freshman and junior years, an honor given to students who embody kindness, acceptance, and positive influence within their class community. In addition, Maia earned Best in Show at the 2023 Barnstable County Fair for her ceramic piece, highlighting her creative leadership as well.

Leadership has been a defining theme of Maia’s high school career. She has served as a Student Government Representative all four years and attended the Massachusetts STAR Leadership Conference during her junior year. She is the Co-Founder of the Pickleball Club, helping build a new opportunity for students to connect and compete. Within Spanish Club, she serves as Historian, and she is actively involved in Women in STEM, Best Buddies, and Model UN. As a freshman, she participated in Clippers for Change, demonstrating early on her commitment to making a positive difference.

Maia also leads through service. She has dedicated substantial time to tutoring in chemistry and math, including service hours through the Math, Science, and National Honor Societies. She volunteers as a tennis coach with TJO Sports, contributing over 40 hours mentoring younger athletes, and has completed numerous additional community service hours across a range of initiatives. Her willingness to support and uplift others is a hallmark of her character.

In athletics, Maia leads both by performance and example. A four-year Varsity Tennis player, she served as Captain her junior and senior years. She was named 2025 MVP and earned both the Sportsmanship and Coaches Awards, in addition to being a three-time League All-Star and three-time All-Scholastic Team selection. She also played Varsity Volleyball, serving as Captain her senior year, earning MVP and League All-Star honors as a junior, and receiving multiple additional awards throughout her career. Her leadership extends beyond school athletics as well, having competed with Cape Cod Juniors Club Volleyball for four years.

Balancing all of these commitments, Maia also works at Quarterdeck Restaurant as a host and busser, demonstrating responsibility, time management, and professionalism.

Maia Ledwell exemplifies the kind of leader who elevates those around her — academically, athletically, and personally. We are proud to recognize her for her integrity, dedication, and lasting impact on her school and community. Congratulations, Maia!

Ethan Parmentier is the February Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month

Ethan Parmentier is being honored this week as part of our Student Recognition Program. He is an accomplished Honor Roll student who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to science, leadership, and community service. Ethan is a member of the Science National Honor Society, where he currently serves as Treasurer, reflecting both his academic excellence and commitment to leadership.

Ethan’s achievements in STEM are particularly impressive. He earned 3rd place in the Falmouth High School STEM Fair in 2023, 2nd place in 2024, and 3rd place again in 2025. He also received Honorable Mention at the MSEF Region V STEM Fair and was invited to participate in the Student Symposium at MIT. In recognition of his outstanding work, Ethan received the Jae S. Lim Foundation Excellence in Science Award as well as the Citizen Scholarship Award from the University of Vermont. Most recently, he was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Marjot Foundation for the 2025–2026 school year to develop a new water quality monitoring probe.

Beyond the classroom, Ethan is a strong leader within his school community. He serves as Captain of the Falmouth High School FIRST Robotics Team, where he also leads the Electrical and Software teams, and is Captain of the Mock Trial Team. These roles highlight his ability to combine technical skill with teamwork and leadership.

Ethan is equally committed to service and hands-on learning in the community. He volunteers as an Animal Care Assistant at the National Marine Life Center and as a Volunteer Educator at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, where he also serves as an Archives Technician and an Alvin Ambassador. He has worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Children’s School of Science and volunteered on the Dylan Fernandes State Senate campaign, further demonstrating his dedication to civic engagement.

We are proud to recognize Ethan Parmentier for his academic excellence, innovation, leadership, and service to both his school and community. Congratulations, Ethan!

Victoria Fialho is the January Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month

Victoria Fialho is being honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition Program. She is an outstanding scholar with a 3.88 GPA and has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence throughout her high school career. Victoria is a member of the National Honor Society and Science Honor Society in both 11th and 12th grades. She has been involved in the Spanish Honor Society from grades 9 through 12, serving as Historian during her junior and senior years, and is currently Vice President of the Math Honor Society.

Victoria’s academic accomplishments have been recognized with numerous honors. She earned the AP Scholar Award in 12th grade and was named VIPS Volunteer of the Month her senior year. She received the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish in 10th grade and the Seal of Biliteracy in Portuguese with Distinction in 11th grade. Victoria was also awarded the Tufts University Book Award during her junior year, recognizing her exceptional academic achievement and leadership.

Beyond academics, Victoria is deeply involved in her school community through athletics and leadership. She received the Coaches Award for Softball in 9th grade and the Cape and Islands League Sportsmanship Award for both Volleyball and Softball in 10th grade. She served as Class President in 9th grade, was a Student Government Representative in 10th and 11th grades, and currently serves as Vice President of the Senior Class. Victoria has also been an active member of the Hope Squad throughout grades 9 through 12 and participated in SEMASC during her senior year.

Victoria’s dedication to service is evident in her extensive volunteer work, with over 100 hours contributed to her community. She has volunteered as a math and science tutor and supported numerous community events and programs, including the Cape Cod Marathon, Falmouth High School Football Snack Shack, PTO childcare, the VIPS Glow Run, softball clinics, and the VIPS Pathway Program. In her free time, Victoria also balances a part-time job at Windfall Market in Falmouth.

Maisie Chase is the November Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month

Maisie is being honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition Program. She is an Honor Roll student and a dedicated member of multiple honor societies, including the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Math Honor Society, and Science Honor Society. Maisie also serves as Treasurer for both the Art and National Honor Societies.

Her academic and extracurricular achievements are impressive. Maisie earned 3rd place in the MSEF Regional Science Fair for her project “The Impact of Invasive Phragmites on Soil.” She has also been recognized with numerous awards, including the RIT Women in STEM Award, the Society of Women Engineers High Honors Award, the Excellence in Science and Mathematics Award, the Falmouth Public Library Book Award for Art, and the Notre Dame Club of Cape Cod Book Award.

Beyond the classroom, Maisie is a standout leader and athlete. She has played JV Soccer and Varsity Sailing, where she also serves as Captain, and she attended the MIAA Leadership Conference. Within the school community, Maisie is actively involved in many clubs: she is Secretary of the GLAM Girl Club, a member of the Hope Squad, and has served in Student Government as both Secretary and Treasurer. She is also President of the Ski Club, Co-President and Founder of the Pickleball Club, and participates in Leadership Training at Project Adventure as well as the Superintendent Student Panel.

In her free time, Maisie gives back to her community by volunteering with the Falmouth Road Race and supporting textile recycling initiatives.

Rima Petrosyan is the October Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month
Congratulations to Rima Petrosyan from Falmouth High School who is being honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program. Rima is and has been a High Honor Roll student since 7th grade.
 
She has received the Harvard Book award, the RIT Art & Design Award and the Jae S Lim Math award, which is an award given to the student in the junior class with the highest math grade. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the French Honor Society, the Science Honors Society, the Math Honor Society, the Tri-M Music Honor Society and the Art Honors Society where she serves as the current President. Additionally Rima has also received the Seal of Biliteracy in French.
 
Rima is a member of several clubs including the FHS Theatre company, Solfege-the FHS Acapella Group, the French Club and president of the Crotchet club. Furthermore Rima volunteers as a teacher and assistant at the Falmouth Art Center for youth classes, offers Math & French tutoring. And in her spare time, she also volunteers at town art fairs.
 
 
 
 
Jacob Reilly  is the September Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month
Congratulations to Jacob Reilly from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program.  Jacob is currently in the top 5% of his class with a GPA of 3.73.  He is an honor roll student, a member of Mu Alpha Theta as well as the Spanish Honor Society. Jacob received the Brown University Book award and the Ted McGuire Scholarship in 2025. He was also a 2023 RYLA student from the Falmouth Rotary Club and a nominee for the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Foundation.
 
Jacob participates as a representative in student government and has served as Treasurer in the past. He is also a member of the Hope Squad and a Varsity Football player (serving as JV captain in 2023) and is currently also a varsity track and field athlete in the javelin and discus. He volunteers time as a math tutor, with the Falmouth commodores and the Falmouth Road Race.  In his spare time he has worked at Market Basket.
 
Elijah Drury is the August Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month
 
Congratulations to Elijah Drury from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program.  As an Honor Roll & High Honor Roll student Elijah is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Math and Music National Honor Societies. Elijah received the book award from Bowdoin University. He has also been honored with the Woody Herman Jazz award and an MAJE award in recognition of outstanding musicianship.
 
Elijah has competed as a varsity track athlete for both spring and winter track as well as the sailing team when they won the 2024 Cape & Islands League. Elijah has been a member of the marching band and jazz band as 1st trumpet. He is a member of the student government, president of the lunch time action club, mock trial and chess club. HE attended the Leadership Project for Adventure Retreats. He is also a member of the Model UN and attended the Clark National MUN Conference.
 
In his spare time he volunteers with his church the First Congregational Church in Falmouth as well as with band, theater, track and student government.
 
Sam Stoermer is the July Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the month
Sam Stoermer
Congratulations to Sam Stoermer from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program.  As an Honor Roll student with a 3.65 GPA and 4.0 unweighted GPA, Sam is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Spanish National Honor Society. Sam is a 2024 RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) Student from the Falmouth Rotary Club.
 
A varsity basketball player and 2025 captain, Sam earned the 2025 MVP for the High School Atlantic League, the Soares Kindness Award, the 2024 Falmouth High School Coaches Award, 2025 MIAA Leadership Conference student for Falmouth and the 2024 MVP for the Winter Classic at the Cape & Islands All Star tournament.
 
He has earned certifications in Culinary as a Serv Safe Food Handler and Business Marketing with Career Safe Personal Financial & Workplace Financial Management. He is a ski club member, a unified sports basketball player (part of the Special Olympics) and also attended an IB program at Bavaraian International School on Munich Germany in 7th grade.
In his spare time he works at Falmouth Academy as a basketball and sports youth counselor and as a youth basketball referee for the Falmouth Recreation Department.
 
 
Jacob Lary is the Rotary Club of  Falmouth Student of the Week

Congratulations to Jacob Lary from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program. 

Jacob is a Senior at Falmouth High School and a Honor Roll Student. Jacob participates in a variety of sports including: football, basketball, indoor track, and track serving as a Captain. He has also completed the Child Development Internship. Jacob volunteers with the Falmouth Road Race on race day for the past few years, with Falmouth Youth baseball, Junior clean up day and Junior work day.

Jacob is noted to be an excellent peer mentor to four younger students at Lawrence, Morse Pond and North Falmouth schools. In his spare time Jacob works at Ocean State Job Lot as a stores associate and at the Falmouth Recreation Summer Camp as a Camp Counselor.
 
Benjamin Dean is the Rotary Club of  Falmouth Student of the Week
 

Congratulations to Benjamin Dean from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program.

Ben is a Senior at Falmouth High School and a Honor Roll Student. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Math Honor Society, the Science Honor Society, the Interact Rotary Club and has received a STEAM Fair award.

Ben plays varsity football and varsity lacrosse, is a 3 year member of Student Government and served for two years as Vice President of his class Sophomore and Junior years.

Ronin Estes is the Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the Week
Congratulations to Ronin Estes from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program.
 
Ronin is a Senior at Falmouth High School and a Honor Roll Student. Ronin is a member of the National Honor Society, the National French Honor Society serving as Secretary sophomore and junior years, the National High School Mathematics Honor Society, the Tri-M Music Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society. Ronin has served as a Peer French and English Tutor at Falmouth High School as well as a Music Tutor at Lawrence School. Ronin is active in the Falmouth High School Band serving as the Secretary junior year and Vice President senior year. Ronin is also in the Pep Band, the Marching Band and the Falmouth High School Jazz Combo.  Ronin is a member of the Falmouth High School morning news, Theater with performance and set building as well as the Plant and Ecology clubs. Ronin also plays classical guitar and the Scottish bagpipes. 
 
Ronin also is an Taekwondo Assistant Coach and during spare time is employed at Devour Artisan Eatery. 
 
 
Robert Simpkins is the Rotary Club of  Falmouth Student of the Week
Congratulations to Robert Simpkins from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program.  Robert is a Senior at Falmouth High School and Honor Roll Student that is currently ranked #1 in his class of 188 students with a 3.99 GPA.  Robert is a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student, an AP Scholar with distinction and has been nominated for the US Presidential Scholars by Falmouth High School.  Robert has received the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal for outstanding academic achievement in math & science and the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award for outstanding achievement & promise in science. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, the Math Honor Society-serving as Vice President, the Science Honor Society-serving as President and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Robert was a RYLA student in 2023, selected to attend the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Student Leadership Conference, a Mock Trial member, a Jazz Ensemble Librarian for all 4 years, and the Falmouth Marching Band Percussion Leader for the past 3 years. Not only is Robert an active member of the bands but he is also a varsity athlete participating in Cross Country and both Winter and Spring Track earning sportsmanship awards as well as League Team Champion all 4 years in winter track. He has been the FHS Clipper of the week as an outstanding athlete and received the East Chop Tennis Club award for sportsmanship as a sophomore. Robert spent summer of 2023 at a Lagoon Pond Internship on Martha’s Vineyard studying shellfish aquaculture operations, invasive species management and habitat restoration.  In the summer of 2024 he worked at an internship at WHOI on deep sea biology research with Dr. Tim Shank. In Robert’s spare time he volunteers in an English Language Peer Mentoring Program by tutoring weekly with Portuguese speaking students in the subjects of math and science. He also volunteers with the COAST program doing marine outreach education. Congratulations Robert!
 
 Charlie Hostetter is the Rotary Club of  Falmouth Student of the Week
 

Congratulations to Charlie Hostetter from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program.  Charlie is a Senior at Falmouth High School and an Honor Roll student. Charlie is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society and the Math Honor Society and has been awarded the Seal of Biliteracy for Spanish.  He was awarded the No Guff Award in both 2020 and 2022 and has served as Class President for 4 years. He has also served on the Interact Club, the Superintendent Advisory Group, and the Hope Squad. Charlie also has around 100 hours of volunteer time tutoring through his various honor societies. He also is a Varsity athlete in Golf, Hockey and Lacrosse serving as Golf Captain in his senior year. He has been awarded the Coaches & Sportsmanship awards in all 3 sports and was a Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Seminar Invitee. In his spare time Charlie has worked at various local businesses including Falmouth Ice Arena, Candy Go Nuts Store. He currently works at the Landfall Restaurant and Woods Hole Golf Club.

 

Chase Briggs is the Rotary Club of  Falmouth Student of the Week!
Congratulations to Chase Briggs from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program.  Chase is a Rising Senior at Falmouth High School and an Honor Roll student serving as a Peer Mentor at both Morse Pond School and Lawrence School. He is a multi sport athlete playing Soccer, Baseball and Hockey serving as the Captain this year for Hockey.  Chase was a Cape & Islands All Star for Hockey and an All Star at Hockey Night in Boston Selection. Chase also serves as Class Representative for the Student Government. In his spare time he volunteers at both the Falmouth Road Race and the Cape Cod Marathon as well as for the East Falmouth Elementary field day and for the Chase Soares Foundation.
 
Brody Costa is the Rotary Club of  Falmouth Student of the Week!
Congratulations to Brody Costa who was honored in September as a Rising Senior at Falmouth High School - Massachusetts as part of our student recognition program. Brody is a Rising Senior at Falmouth High School and an Honor Roll student and National Honor Society, Tri-M and a Harvard University Book Awardee. Brody also was a concert band MVP 2022-2023, Vice President of Instrumental Musiland, Vice President and Co-Founder of the Falmouth High School Plant Club. He is currently a member of all music ensembles at Falmouth High School and helps mentor students in the Lawrence Band. Brody is a member of the FHS Morning News, the model United Nations and mock trial.

Congratulations to Connor Scarpellini from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program. Connor is an Honor Roll student participating in honors History and Honors Math. Connor graduated the Child Development Course at Falmouth High School and has taught preschool. He has an upcoming internship at Morse Pond School this year. Connor is Captain of the Varsity Baseball team and also plays Varsity Basketball receiving sportsmanship awards and coaches award for both sports. In his spare time, Connor is a volunteer for the Falmouth Road Race, a Unified Baseball Helper, a Wellness Leader, helps fundraise for the baseball team and does peer mentoring. Jordan is a High Honor Roll Student and a member of both the National Honor Society and the Math National Honor Society serving as the Treasurer. Jordan was also honored as a All Scholastic for Massachusetts, which celebrates and honors the accomplishments of high school student-athletes. Jordan plays varsity lacrosse and basketball as well as club lacrosse and was a junior captain and a volunteer coach. Jordan also participated in the Interact Club at Falmouth High School, Morgan’s Message Club; is a tutor and serves as the Class Vice President.

Congratulations to Christina Femino from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts, who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program. Christina is a high honor roll student with a 4.0 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society serving as secretary, the Spanish National Honor Society, the Math National Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society and was recognized as an Advanced Studies & Leadership Program Top Female Delegate. Christina also received the University of Rochester Book Award. Christina has played 2 years on several varsity teams including basketball, softball and volleyball, serving as captain on the volleyball team and a senior captain on the softball team. Christina is the Vice President of the Falmouth High School Hope Squad and the Secretary and Treasurer of the Class of 2025. She volunteers time at St. Elizabeth Seton Church as well as serves as a delegate representative at MassSTAR Leadership Conference and has participated in 5 theatrical productions at FHS. Jacqueline Collins is the Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the Week
Congratulations to Jacqueline Collins from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts, who was honored last week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program. Jackie is the 2024 MA Girls State Falmouth Representative; the President of the National Honor Society, President of the French Honor Society (previously serving as Vice President in 2023) and a member of Mu Alpha Theta-the Math Honor Society. She has been an Honor Roll student since 2019 with an unweighted GPA of 3.91 and is part of the Harvard University Pre College Program. She has received the Rochester Institute of Technology Humanities and Social Science award and the Dartmouth College Book award. Jackie is the Falmouth High School Model UN Founder and President. She is a dancer at Turning Pointe Dance Studio in the Intensive Dance Division and also helps as an Assistant Instructor, Substitute Teacher having performed at the Holiday Stroll and the En Dehors Performance. In her spare time she is a member of the ski club, tutors in French and Math and is both a barista at Coffee Obsession and a lifeguard at Bowerman's Beach Club. Congratulations Jackie!!!

Maggie who takes multiple AP classes is an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society. She is President of the Hope Squad, Secretary of the French Club and serves as the Historian for the Model UN. She also serves on the Superintendent Advisory Board, is a Mullen Hall after school program volunteer and both does competitive dance and teaches dance in her spare time. Christian Sullivan is the Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the Week! Christian is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Science, Math and Spanish Honor society. He serves as president for the Science Honor Society, vice president for the Math and secretary for the National Honor Society. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction and received a Distinction of Merit Award in writing from the National Council of Teachers of English and was a Book Awards recipient.  He has served since 10th grade as the class of 2024 representative to student government having previously served freshman year as the class vice president and the boys state representative junior year. He was also the student representative on the search committee for an FHS Athletic Director. 

Christian is a varsity athlete playing hockey, soccer and lacrosse receiving the Coach’s award sophomore year in hockey, the sportsmanship award in soccer his junior year.  

In his spare time Christian volunteers with the Falmouth Road Race, as a science/engineering fair judge for Falmouth Public Schools,  and a tutor for Science, Math and Spanish. He has his certification for safety with America’s Boating course and works as a caddie and outside operations at the Sacconnessett Golf Club.

Anna is a high honor roll student at Falmouth High School - Massachusetts. She is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the Science, Math and Spanish Honor society and serving as president of the Science and vice president of Spanish. She has received the Jae Lim award for science.
Anna is a varsity athlete serving as captain of the Softball team, plays travel softball and varsity volleyball. She runs an after school Spanish program at Mullen Hall Elementary, is a Peer Tutor and a Peer Mentor. In addition she is the Class of 2024 Secretary & Treasurer. In her spare time she volunteers with the Falmouth Service Center, the Falmouth Road Race, Falmouth Softball club as an assistant coach and other honor society volunteer work.
 
Thomas Ghossein Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the Week!
Thomas is a high honor roll student for the past 4 years. He is a member of the National Honor Society for Math and French and serves as President in the French Honor Society.
 

Thomas plays varsity basketball and is a varsity tennis captain after having been a sophomore all star. He volunteers with younger kids at church engaging in studies and games. He is also a senior class representative.

Harley Smith Rotary Club of Falmouth Student of the Week
 

Harley Smith is an Eagle Scout and Honor Roll student. He is Cape Cod Community College Dual Enrollment Student and a leader in the FHS Robotics Club. He has received the Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology from the University of Rochester. He also received the BSA Ad Altare Dei Award and Order of the Arrow BSA Honor Society.

In his spare time, Harley is an alter server with St. Joseph Guardian of the Holy Family Parish and a member of Boy Scouts of America, Troop 42 in Falmouth. He is also a member of the FHS Hockey League and a WHOI OOI intern.

Congratulations to Aiden Corey, one of this year's Youth Merit Award winners from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts. Aiden is a National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society member. He won the book award from Salve Regina University and was chosen to participate in the Boys 2023 State through the American Legion at Stonehill College, He has played baseball at FHS during his freshman and sophomore years. He participates in the Latin club, Interact Club and Debate Club and also has over 50+ hours of volunteer time at the Falmouth Service Center.

We recognized rising Falmouth High School - Massachusetts senior, Ryan Simone with a Scholastic Achievement award. Ryan, the son of Cynthia & Rodney Simone is a Honor Roll student and a National Honors Society student including for Science. He has participated in the Bridgewater Regional State Science Fair and the MIT State Science Fair and was a recipient of the George Eastman Young Leaders Award as well as a Climate Ambassador for Cape Cod. He is the Captain for the Varsity Soccer Team and a member of the Latin Club. He is an active volunteer with Falmouth Road Race; VIPS Elementary Track Meet; Club Soccer; and participated in Earth Day for the schools at Goodwill Park. Congratulations Ryan!

Jean Vazquez Wins 2019 College Junior Scholarship
Jean Vazquez,  a graduate of Falmouth High School,  is the winner of the 2019 Rotary Club of Falmouth, Cape Cod Scholarship for College Juniors.  Jean is a Neuro-science major at Stonehill College  in Easton, MA.  He will graduate in 2021 with a BS degree.  Jean plans to continue his education towards advanced degrees. Congratulations to this week's Student of the week: Abby Chorches, a rising senior at Falmouth High School Falmouth Public Schools - Massachusetts. Abby is a high honor roll student, a member of the National Honor Society and the National Arts Honors Society. She is a varsity track & field athlete and the Division 3 Champion in the Shot Put. In addition to her academics, Abby volunteers with the Falmouth Road Race and at East Falmouth Elementary School with the PTO. William also known as Colby is a Rising Senior at Falmouth High School with a GPA of 3.19, an Honor Roll student and Percussionist. He was selected for the honors program wind ensemble for the past 2 years as we as selected for the All Cape Music Festival this past year.
 
Colby is also an athlete running on the Winter Track Team as well as playing Varsity Soccer and Club Soccer. Colby is a Life Scout and is currently working on his Eagle Scout Project which will help our local community.
 
Colby volunteers as a junior Deacon at his church, at the Falmouth Service Center, at the Cape Cod Marathon, Relay and Half, & Falmouth Road Race. He currently work at Cape Cod Country Club.
 
In his spare time he enjoys skiing, golfing, hiking and kayaking!

Student of the Week: Molly Gedney

Meet Molly Gedney, Student of the Week!

Molly is a Rising Senior at Falmouth High School. She is a Honor Roll student, in the National Honor Society including the Art, Math and Tri-M Music Honor Societies. She participates in the Latin Club, All Cape Music Festival, and Peer Mentoring. She is also an athlete participating on both the Field Hockey and Tennis teams.

Molly works currently at La Cucina Sul Mare as a hostess and enjoys reading, music and outdoor activities. In her spare time Molly volunteers in the community with the Falmouth Road Race, the Annual Cleanup in West Falmouth, Math Tutoring with Mrs. Gilbert at North Falmouth Elementary School and Art at Teaticket Elementary School, as well as at Cape Cod Church in the small groups and the nursery.

Her plans after high school include attending a 4 year Christian College and majoring in Psychology with an interest of becoming an Occupational Therapist.

Student of the Week: Jake McKenzie
Last week our student of the week was Jake McKenzie. Jake is an honor student and athlete, playing golf, hockey and baseball. An avid golf player he has been playing since he was a toddler, and now has a handicap of just under 6! He has played in state golf tournaments and other student invitationals. In his spare time he dabbles as a stock trader on e-trades, volunteers at the Falmouth Service Center as well as Falmouth Ice Arena teaching little ones to skate and hockey 101. He also serves as a student tour guide at FHS for school choice prospects.

Shu-tong Murray, daughter of Mark Olenick & Jim Murray, received the Dartmouth College book award, has consistently made honor and high honor roll as well as participates actively on the school gymnastics team and sailing.  Shu-tong is actively involved in many clubs at school including, science, math, french and art as well as the National Honor Society. She is also a part member of the Interact Club!  She also works at Buffalo Jump at Coonamessett Farm as well as volunteers at Highfield Hal and even plays the cello. Her future plans include attending a 4 year college majoring in science or engineering while potentially minoring in art, graphic design or cinematography. Her dream is to work for National Geographic and looks forward to traveling the world. Congratulations to Shu-tong Murray and her family on her amazing achievements!

Congratulations to Victoria Roulston, the 2019 Women's Athletic Scholarship Winner!

We are proud to announce that Victoria is our winner this year of a $1000 scholarship due to her success at being a women's scholar athlete. Torie will be attending Southern New Hampshire University where she will major in criminal justice. She graduated with a 3.76 as an honors/AP student, is a member of Tri M Music Honors society, Mu Alpha Theta-a math honors society and the National Honors Society. She played for the women's Varsity Soccer team at Falmouth High School as a striker, was active with student government, Symphony Band as well as has volunteered with Jack's Pact, the Falmouth Service Center fundraiser for cancer, a volunteer referee and coach with the Rec Center and a counselor with the Scorpions soccer club. In addition to this busy schedule this impressive young woman also works for at the Falmouth Commodores concession stand, Cape Grille, Pies A La Mode Cafe, and Falmouth Nursing Home.
