Congratulations to Robert Simpkins from Falmouth High School - Massachusetts who was honored this week as a Rising Senior as part of our Student Recognition program. Robert is a Senior at Falmouth High School and Honor Roll Student that is currently ranked #1 in his class of 188 students with a 3.99 GPA. Robert is a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student, an AP Scholar with distinction and has been nominated for the US Presidential Scholars by Falmouth High School. Robert has received the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal for outstanding academic achievement in math & science and the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award for outstanding achievement & promise in science. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, the Math Honor Society-serving as Vice President, the Science Honor Society-serving as President and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Robert was a RYLA student in 2023, selected to attend the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Student Leadership Conference, a Mock Trial member, a Jazz Ensemble Librarian for all 4 years, and the Falmouth Marching Band Percussion Leader for the past 3 years. Not only is Robert an active member of the bands but he is also a varsity athlete participating in Cross Country and both Winter and Spring Track earning sportsmanship awards as well as League Team Champion all 4 years in winter track. He has been the FHS Clipper of the week as an outstanding athlete and received the East Chop Tennis Club award for sportsmanship as a sophomore. Robert spent summer of 2023 at a Lagoon Pond Internship on Martha’s Vineyard studying shellfish aquaculture operations, invasive species management and habitat restoration. In the summer of 2024 he worked at an internship at WHOI on deep sea biology research with Dr. Tim Shank. In Robert’s spare time he volunteers in an English Language Peer Mentoring Program by tutoring weekly with Portuguese speaking students in the subjects of math and science. He also volunteers with the COAST program doing marine outreach education. Congratulations Robert!
