Long-time Rotarian Hazel Tavares died suddenly on November 16, 2009
 
Hazel Tavares, the first woman to join the Falmouth Rotary Club, was the wife of the late Francisco Tavares. Mr. Tavares was also a Rotarian. Hazel and her husband ran Tavares Florist and Landscaping for many years. She loved gardening, traveling, friends at JML, playing Bingo, cooking, playing the organ, and bowling. Hazel is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Visiting hours are November 18 from 4-8 pm at the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funderal Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 19 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Church, 511 Main Street, Falmouth.
